Shivani Bhalla Beri

Shivani is a senior lawyer with significant experience across various areas of law, Estate Planning, Commercial, Litigation and Family Law. She began her legal career at a general practice law firm.

Over the first four years of her career, Shivani gained experience in many areas of law including family law, civil litigation, Wills and Probate and commercial drafting.

Since then she has honed her skills in probate and survivorship representations, drafting wills and testamentary trusts, advising on superannuation and estate planning, drafting superannuation and estate planning documents, drafting trust deeds and associated documents and assisting in duties of a deceased estate executors.

Shivani’s most recent experience was as the second-in charge in a small general practice law firm where she worked in all areas of the law but predominantly in the areas of wills and estate planning and commercial drafting enhancing her skills further.

Shivani is looking forward to working with Homevisitwills clients and solving their Wills

It is a trust created through your Will on your death to give your beneficiaries (the person(s) you leave gifts to) flexibility in dealing with the gift/s you give them. Briefly, you leave the gift/s in trust to be held by the trustee/s for the benefit of your nominated beneficiaries in accordance with your wishes as spelt out in your Will.

An Enduring Power of Attorney (EPA) is a legal agreement that enables a person to appoint a trusted person – or people – to make financial and property decisions on their behalf.

An Enduring Power of Guardianship is a legal document that authorises a person of your choice, to make important personal, lifestyle and treatment decisions on your behalf should you ever become incapable of making such decisions yourself. This person is known as an enduring guardian.

An Advance Health Directive is a document that contains your decisions about future treatment. Treatment includes medical, surgical and dental treatment and other health care. You can make an Advance Health Directive in which you either provide consent, or refuse consent, to future treatment.
Probate is the legal process that a Will of a deceased goes through whereby the Supreme Court reviews the Will to ensure that it is in order and complies with the law. If the law is complied with the Court issues a Grant of Probate which then empowers the executor to administer the estate of the deceased according to the terms of the Will.
